The Private Education Development Network (PEDN) believes that the key to Ugandan economic self-sufficiency lies in the great innovative minds of youth.

As a nonprofit organization, PEDN promotes youth empowerment through the establishment of entrepreneurial, financial, and business skill programs in primary and secondary schools, as well as in communities.

It's varied programs include the Aflatoun Child Social and Financial Education, Aflateen Social and Financial Education for the Youth all proudly sponsored by Citi Foundation.

Others include the Young Entrepreneurs Program, Smart Start Financial Education funded by FINCA Uganda Limited, Newspapers in Education, Girls Empowered to Empower, and the list never ends.

By June 2012, PEDN had made a landmark of over 120,000 youths in Uganda having been sensitized and trained in financial systems, starting up lucrative businesses through curricular devised by the PEDN team in partnership with stakeholders including local and international Non Governmental Organizations like Aflatoun International
